Editorial Storytelling & Narrative Development
Overview
This body of work focused on longform editorial storytelling built from direct customer interviews. Stories were developed in close partnership with sales, marketing, business partners, and school and district customers, to document how educators and institutions navigated challenges such as funding, training, and change management, and achieved meaningful outcomes through the implementation of technology. Each use case required deep listening, narrative discernment, and careful translation of complex, technical experiences into clear, human-centered stories.
My role
Senior copywriter and editorial lead for customer storytelling. I partnered with sales to select strong story candidates, then led the end-to-end editorial process: coordinating and conducting in-depth interviews with district leaders, IT teams, educators, and, at times, students; identifying a clear narrative throughline from extensive transcripts; and shaping each story through multiple rounds of writing and refinement. I managed review and approval with school and district stakeholders, collaborated with the design and web teams for publication, and ensured finished stories were shared across field marketing, company outreach, and sales enablement teams.
When video was part of the storytelling mix, I worked closely with production and design teams to shape story arcs, develop interview questions, provide editorial context, and guide the reduction of hours of footage into focused, story-driven videos that complemented, rather than duplicated, the written narratives.
Intent
Create editorially strong, trustworthy stories that championed the voices of educators and partners, surfaced real-world complexity, and provided sales and marketing teams with authentic, usable narratives that built credibility, understanding, and connection.

Featured Case Study
Spartanburg School District | Editorial Story + Video
A longform editorial feature supported by a companion video, telling the story of district-wide transformation through technology adoption. Built from extensive interviews with district leaders, educators, and instructional staff, the written story establishes context, vision, and outcomes, while the video deepens the narrative through voice, presence, and lived experience. The video was intentionally developed as a complementary piece—extending the story rather than repeating it—to explore culture shift, instructional practice, and sustained change at scale.
